Data center operator CyrusOne has officially broken ground on a major new data center campus in Fort Worth, Texas, further expanding its presence in one of the nation’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure hubs.
The project, known as DFW7, will be a multi-building campus with an initial IT capacity of approximately 70 megawatts (MW).
“As the second-largest data center market in the U.S., the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is a strategic investment for CyrusOne and our customers, expanding our portfolio with total capital investments in Texas now exceeding $2.4 billion,” said Eric Schwartz, CEO of CyrusOne. “Our new Fort Worth location will enable us to continue delivering innovative solutions to meet the growing needs of our customers.”
CyrusOne initially filed plans for DFW7 in September 2024. The facility will be located on Asphalt Drive in Tarrant County, and represents a $200 million investment. The campus will feature a 1.9 million-square-foot (176,000 sqm), single-story data center, with construction expected to conclude in Q1 2026.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held to mark the start of construction, with attendees including U.S. Congressman Marc Veasey, Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker, Oncor COO Jim Greer, and Clune Construction CEO David Hall and Vice President Tyler Stevenson.

Owned by KKR, CyrusOne’s Texas portfolio includes more than 14 data centers, both operational and under development, with the majority located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Globally, CyrusOne operates 80 data centers across seven countries and 30 markets, including key U.S. states such as Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
