Cruz Azul of Mexico plans cement capacity expansion

Cemento Cruz Azul is set to significantly enhance its production capacity with the installation of a 3,000 tpd integrated cement plant in the municipality of Seybaplaya, located southwest of Campeche, Mexico.

Additionally, a new state-of-the-art grinding plant will be established at the Lagunas cement facility in Oaxaca (photo). The company has earmarked an investment of US$300 million for the Seybaplaya cement plant and US$40 million for the grinding plant in Oaxaca.

Construction of the Seybaplaya cement plant commenced on August 1, 2024, with completion targeted by the end of 2026. The advanced grinding plant in Oaxaca is expected to be fully operational by October 2025.
