Caitlyn India Pvt. Ltd. (CIPL) is investing ₹400 crore to establish a 50,000 TPA integrated phosphoric acid facility in a port-accessible industrial zone in southern India. The plant will utilize advanced hemihydrate–dihydrate (HH-DH) technology, producing high-purity phosphoric acid and cleaner gypsum by-products. A captive sulphuric acid unit will enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Commissioning is expected by FY 2027, with initial output directed to Indian fertiliser manufacturers. CIPL also plans to use part of the production for its future NPK fertiliser plant.
The project addresses India’s rising demand for phosphoric acid, which is expected to grow significantly by 2030, and aims to reduce import dependence. Raw materials will be sourced from Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt under long-term contracts.
Director Agnivesh Agarwal said, “Our investment supports India’s fertiliser sector with high-quality, locally sourced inputs, while building a sustainable and globally competitive facility.”
The initiative is aligned with national goals for fertiliser self-sufficiency and is set to boost employment and strengthen the agri-input manufacturing ecosystem in India.
