Argent LNG has chosen GTT technology for its proposed LNG development in Port Fourchon, Louisiana. GTT will supply the cryogenic membrane containment systems used for LNG transport and storage, which will be integrated into Argent LNG’s storage infrastructure.
In 2024, Argent LNG secured a long-term exclusive lease with the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, acquiring 144 acres of land at Port Fourchon. The company plans to develop an LNG export plant with a projected capacity of up to 20 million tonnes per year, pending approvals. Operations are expected to begin in 2029 or 2030.
The initial phase of the project will involve the installation of liquefaction trains with a capacity of 10 million tonnes per year at an estimated cost of $10 billion. The second phase will add four more LNG trains, bringing the total capacity to 20 million tonnes per year.
Worley has been selected as the program manager, and Kiewit will serve as the EPC contractor for the project.
