Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest single-site smelter, has entered into a strategic partnership with Daiki Aluminium Industry Company, Japan’s leading aluminium product manufacturer, to establish a sustainable aluminium dross processing business in Bahrain. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at Alba’s premises by Ali Al Baqali, Alba’s CEO, along with Alba’s Executive Management Team, and Yamamoto Takaaki, Chairman of Daiki Aluminium, alongside senior executives from both companies.
This collaboration marks a significant advancement in the Bahrain-Japan economic relationship, leveraging Alba’s industry expertise and Daiki Aluminium’s innovative technologies to drive sustainability in aluminium production. The partnership is aligned with Alba’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Roadmap and Bahrain’s national environmental objectives, focusing on circular economy principles. The new facility will employ advanced technologies to recover valuable aluminium metal from dross, reducing waste and contributing to a greener economy.
Al Baqali highlighted the importance of this collaboration, stating, “This alliance with Daiki Aluminium marks a pivotal moment in Alba’s sustainability journey. By integrating Daiki’s technological expertise, we are enhancing our operations while contributing to Bahrain’s economy. This partnership reflects our commitment to long-term value creation and advancing the circular economy.”
Yamamoto Takaaki, Chairman of Daiki Aluminium, expressed pride in the alliance, noting, “We are thrilled to form a strategic partnership with Alba, one of the world’s leading aluminium smelters.
