Norway’s Aker Solutions has won the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) contract for the Brasse tieback project for OKEA.
Brasse is an oil and gas field located 13 kilometers south of the Brage platform in the Norwegian North Sea. The field will be developed as a subsea tieback to Brage and will utilise the existing processing capacity on the platform.
Under the contract worth between $47m and $140m, Aker Solutions, which had already carried out the front-end engineering design for the project, will prepare the topside of the platform for receiving oil and gas from the Brasse field.

Our experience of working as an integrator in projects alongside OKEA, OneSubsea and Subsea7 has shown that together, we are able to find feasible solutions to maximise the utilisation of resources in mature areas in a profitable manner,” said Paal Eikeseth, executive vice president and head of Aker Solutions’ life cycle segment.
The Brasse discovery was made in 2016 and four appraisal wells were drilled in the period 2017-2019.It is estimated that the field contains 30 mmboe, of which two-thirds is oil. The plan for development and operation will be submitted in April, and Brasse will be renamed Bestla upon approval.
