Global engineering company Worley will provide procurement, fabrication, and modularisation services for Air Products’ Net Zero hydrogen energy complex in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Under terms of the contract, Worley will fabricate and assemble process and pipe rack modules at its Edmonton modularisation yard, using automated pipe-cutting techniques and robotic welding.
Worley’s Edmonton modularisation yard is located adjacent to the Air Products site.
First unveiled in 2021, Air Products’ multi-billion-dollar Net Zero hydrogen energy complex will help refining and petrochemical customers reduce the carbon intensity of their energy products and improve their sustainability performance.
Once operational, Air Products says that the Net Zero complex will produce clean hydrogen and capture and permanently sequester carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The complex will also help to create thousands of jobs and support Canada in its mission to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
Chris Ashton, CEO of Worley, said, “We’re pleased to work with Air Products on this significant complex, consistent with our purpose of delivering a more sustainable world, as we partner with our customers to deliver a lower carbon future.”
