ADES Holding Company has announced a new milestone after securing a USD 63 million contract through its wholly owned subsidiary, Shelf Drilling. The agreement covers the deployment of the Compact Driller standard jackup rig for Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) under a two-year term.
The rig will be used to carry out plug and abandonment (P&A) operations across offshore Brunei. The contract, valued at approximately SAR 236 million, marks ADES’ strengthened foothold in Southeast Asia following its acquisition of Shelf Drilling.
The Compact Driller is expected to begin work in Brunei in the fourth quarter of 2026. Before deployment, it will undergo preparation and upgrade activities in Singapore. The rig is currently operating in India, where its contract runs until May 2026.
Dr. Mohamed Farouk, CEO of ADES Holding, said the award represents the company’s first major success since the Shelf Drilling acquisition and aligns closely with its broader regional strategy. He emphasized that Shelf Drilling’s strong safety record and extensive P&A experience in Southeast Asia were key drivers behind the win.
He added that the partnership with BSP reflects the combined operational strengths of ADES and Shelf Drilling, reinforcing their commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and efficient services. The company sees this contract as a foundation for continued growth and deeper engagement with clients in the region.
